Since the 1940’s, Sanford has been the airport center of Florida. The city was an important regional military base during World War II, Korea War and the Cold War. The base was operative until 1968. Today the regional airport Orlando-Sanford is served by several other airports in the United States and in Europe, especially due to its proximity with Orlando. Flying schools are in general located in the suburbs of the city but are accessible in few minutes by car. When you arrive in Sanford, you will have the impression of evolving within a movie set.
