Spectacular views across the turquoise ocean, the salty scent of a summer breeze, sunshine and blue skies…...who wouldn’t start dreaming? Miami Beach invites you to paradise, a holiday on the perfect sand beaches of the Atlantic coast of Florida.Miami Beach is situated on a peninsula directly outside of the metropolis Miami. Its miles after miles of white beaches and the probably trendiest promenade in the whole of the USA, made it famous world wide. Many Hollywood celebrities live in and around the notorious Ocean Drive or own some of the exquisite restaurants and noble night clubs. The city is also one of the most popular holiday destinations of the ‘regular’ Americans, which is almost certainly due to temperatures of 30 Degrees Celsius or more in summer and the comfortable temperatures of around 20 Degrees Celsius in winter. The recommended time for travel is therefore during the winter months, between December and March. In this tropical climate it is only understandable that glamour, lifestyle and nudism become a necessity. Famous fashion designers have opened their branches in South Beach, the southern part of town, and a life of luxury is being lived to the fullest there. During daytime celebrities and other beauties stroll true the countless streets and exquisite shops. The afternoons are spent with surfing, skating along the promenade, or with sunbathing on one of the beautiful beaches. At night the streets of Miami Beach become alive with the numerous night clubs and bars. The mild air holds a Latin American flair and hot rhythms rush through the night. The widely renowned nightlife of Miami Beach turns the night into day and brings the tarmac to boil. Prepare to be at the very centre of the fashion and fast-moving world. The beautiful art deco quarter with its buildings and houses built in the 30ies of the 20th century is an absolute highlight in Miami Beach. The quarter, which is one of the largest preserved art deco parts of a city in the world, is an attraction for all visitors that are interested in the history of Miami Beach as well as its lifestyle. The old buildings with their colonial style will transfer you into a different time and will give a good impression of the extraordinary beauty of this architecture. A visit is therefore more than recommended and probably inevitable as the noble shopping streets and most popular beaches are located in and around this area. Many of exactly these old historic buildings are hotels and restaurants nowadays and therefore an extended stay in Miami Beach will surely be worth a while. One of the most hip shopping streets in the art deco quarter is, without a doubt, Collins Avenue. This street is one of the busiest in Miami Beach and lies in between 5th and 9th street. Here you will find the famous designer boutiques with their latest fashion trends. Further south and parallel to Collins Avenue lies the above mentioned, forever alive, Ocean Drive. The atmosphere of ‘seeing and being seen’ defines every day life. Many will celebrate the end of a long working day with a cocktail and will get into the mood for yet another energetic night. If you are in Miami Beach you best start your day on one of the beautiful beaches before travelling to the historic art deco quarter with your rental car to admire the architecture and have lunch in one of the stylish restaurants. Spend your afternoon with shopping, or drive along the Ocean Drive. At night venture into the nightlife or simply enjoy the beach, a cocktail in the cool summer breeze and the rush of the waves in the background.
