When most people think of Texas, they probably think of long horns and cowboy boots. While you might find these things in Dallas, the city has much much more! Some describe Dallas as the pearl of the southern states… and others would say that this is an understatement! There’s something to entertain and educate family members of all ages. For the history bluff, the Sixth floor Museum in the Texas School Book Depository Building will be like discovering a hidden treasure. This building marks the spot were a sniper shot President John F. Kennedy. You can see the exact spot, as well as read about the life, death and legacy of the famous president and his family. There’s also the Dallas Heritage Village which brings you back to the Civil War times. Here, one can take a tour through a living history museum and see how life was like in Dallas from 1840 to 1910.![]() Kid always love the Dallas World Aquarium where you can see exhibits of exotic fish and animals. For an adventurous day, go to the Six Flags over Texas amusement park, home to the world’s best-voted wooden roller coaster or the Hurricane Harbor water park, the largest water park in the southwest. ![]() To get a real southern experience, buy a pair of leather cowboy boots and stomp on over to the Cowboys Red River bar. Handsome cowboys will greet you at the door and you can learn to two-step and line-dance from the best of the west. There’s live country-western music, pool tables, and a mechanical bull to keep you laughing for hours. |
