![]() Located just north of the nation’s capital, Baltimore is Maryland’s largest city. Culture, history, and science are all attractive elements of this great city and it is difficult to run out of things to do while visiting one of the east coast’s major hot spots. Baltimore is one of the US’s largest ports, and sits on the Patapsco River, which feeds into the one of the world’s most famous estuaries, the Chesapeake Bay. Naturally, Baltimore hosts its share of marine life as it is the home of the national aquarium and the famous shark exhibit! Ask any Baltimorean what their favorite part of the summer is and they will surely tell you crab season. This classic tradition of eating the crawling creatures that dwell on the ocean bottom is an event enjoyed by friends and family. This is a time that is spent cracking and hammering away at crabs over a beer while enjoying the taste of Baltimore’s very own unique sea food seasoning “Old Bay”. ![]() One of Baltimore’s largest tourist attractions is the Inner Harbor. Located in the heart of the city, the Inner Harbor offers an array of activities for people of all ages. A relaxing afternoon could consist of an enjoyable paddle boat ride through the harbor, then a quick elevator ride to the top of the world trade center for a breath taking view, followed by a stroll through the surrounding shops, all topped off with a classic sea food meal in one of the many restaurants in the area. Those looking to enjoy a more active night life should visit Fells Point or Canton to experience what the countless bars have to offer. Finally a trip to Baltimore would not be complete without visiting or supporting the home of the two loved sports teams, the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles. Oriole Park at Camden Yards is a beautiful ball park that was completed in 1992 to replace Memorial Stadium and hosts many exciting baseball games. If you would like to visit the home of Baltimore’s famous defensive football team, stop by M&T Bank Stadium where everything is colored purple, black and white to support the beloved Ravens. A quick visit and maybe even a tour of these stadiums is a great way to get a real feel for Baltimore culture. |
