Untouched, white sand beaches, pure sapphire waters and abundant flora are just a few of the natural wonders found in the Greek village of Hanioti. Located on the peninsula of Kassandra, Hanioti’s 524 occupants live within 2600 acres of pristine oasis. Natural springs, indigenous flowers, and lush pine trees richly paint the landscape with a harmonious magnificence. The combination of alluring beaches, warm cerulean waters, and shade provided by pine trees on the beach make Hanioti’s coastline a suitable place for those wanting to sunbathe, swim, try a new water sport or gather with friends and family. There are also several lively taverns, beach bars, dance clubs and cafes where guests can relax outside, lounge on a beach sofa , enjoy the fresh air and sample some authentic Greek ouzo. Most of these cafes offer traditional fish dishes, which are popular with locals and tourists alike.
![]() Many travellers recommend renting a car in Thessaloniki, Greece’s northern capital, and driving south along the coast line until you reach Hanioti. Thirty minutes into the drive you could stop in Moudania, the cultural and economic hub of northern Greece. Moudania has one of the largest fish wharfs in Greece and holds an annual fishing competition attracting an international audience. All together, the scenic drive from Thessaloniki to Hanioti takes about an hour and provides many picture opportunities of vineyards, coastlines and rolling hills.
